BingX Review 2026: Fees, Copy Trading, Safety and Real Weaknesses
An honest BingX review for 2026: real fees, products, copy trading, regulation and proof of reserves, plus the weaknesses BingX doesn't advertise.
BingX is a mid-to-large centralised exchange that has been around since 2018, claims 40 million-plus registered users, and has built its reputation on copy trading rather than on being the deepest order book in the market. It is not a scam, it is not the best exchange for everyone, and its marketing overstates a couple of things. This review goes through fees, products, security, regulation and copy trading in that order, then says who it suits and who should look elsewhere.
Disclosure first: PerpCompass earns a commission if you register through our link. That doesn't change the fee rates you pay (your side is a 20% rebate via the referral code), but it's a reason to read the weaknesses section with the same attention as the strengths.
Quick verdict and pros/cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Copy trading at a scale few competitors match (400k+ lead traders) | Not MiCA-authorised; EU users get a Lithuanian VASP registration, not an EU licence |
| Competitive base fees: spot 0.10/0.10, perps 0.02/0.05 | Blocked in the USA, UK, Canada, Singapore, Netherlands, HK, Macau, mainland China |
| 900+ spot assets, early listings on small caps | Welcome bonus is mostly trial funds with deposit and volume conditions |
| Publishes proof of reserves; AUSTRAC-registered entity | Liquidity on mid-cap perps is thinner than Binance or Bybit |
| Demo account, grid and DCA bots, P2P with local currencies | App has periodic bugs after releases (chart freezes, notification duplication) |
| Basic KYC usually approved within hours | Lead-trader rankings reward recent luck as much as skill |
The one-line summary: a good exchange for copy trading and altcoin access with fair fees, held back by regulatory gaps in Europe and a marketing style that oversells the bonus.
Fees
BingX's base (VIP 0) fees are in line with the big competitors and slightly better than some.
| Exchange | Spot maker / taker | USDT-M futures maker / taker |
|---|---|---|
| BingX | 0.10% / 0.10% | 0.02% / 0.05% |
| Bybit | 0.10% / 0.10% | 0.02% / 0.055% |
| Binance | 0.10% / 0.10% (25% off with BNB) | 0.02% / 0.05% |
| OKX | 0.08% / 0.10% | 0.02% / 0.05% |
| MEXC | 0.00% / 0.05% | 0.00% / 0.02% (promo rates vary) |
| KuCoin | 0.10% / 0.10% | 0.02% / 0.06% |
Spot VIP tiers drop quickly: VIP 1 is 0.04/0.06, VIP 2 and 3 are 0.02/0.05, VIP 5 is 0.01/0.03, and Supreme VIP is 0.01/0.02. Reaching VIP 1 needs meaningful 30-day volume, so most retail users sit at VIP 0.
The referral rebate changes the picture more than the VIP ladder for typical users. Entered at signup, a code gives a 20% rebate on every fee-bearing spot and futures trade, credited daily, permanently. On 100,000 USDT of monthly taker futures volume that's 50 USDT in fees and 0.50 × 20 USDT back. It can't be added after registration, which is the single most common complaint we hear from readers. The fees guide has the full rate card and withdrawal costs, and the fee calculator does the arithmetic.
Weak points on fees: MEXC is cheaper in nominal terms on futures, Binance's BNB discount beats BingX on spot for anyone holding BNB, and withdrawal fees on some ERC-20 tokens are on the high side. Check the live withdrawal fee page before moving tokens on Ethereum mainnet.
Products
The product list is broad for an exchange of this size:
- Spot with 900+ assets. BingX lists small-cap tokens early, which is useful if you want them and a risk if you don't know what you're buying.
- USDT-M and coin-M perpetuals with leverage up to 125x to 150x depending on the pair. Standard (non-perpetual) futures are also available.
- Copy trading for spot and futures; covered separately below.
- Grid and DCA bots with templates and AI-suggested parameters. The templates are fine for ranging markets and will lose money in trends, like all grid bots.
- Earn: flexible and fixed-term staking and savings products. Rates vary; the flexible USDT rate is unremarkable.
- Launchpad-style events for new token distributions, usually with holding or trading requirements.
- P2P with local currency pairs and escrow, useful in countries where card on-ramps are expensive.
- Demo account with virtual funds that mirrors the real trading interface.
The futures guide covers order types, margin modes and the funding schedule. Before using anything above 5x, the liquidation calculator will tell you how close the exit is.
Where products fall short: order book depth on mid-cap perpetuals is noticeably thinner than Binance or Bybit, which shows up as slippage on market orders above a few thousand USDT and as wider spreads during volatility. If you trade size on BTC or ETH it's fine; if you trade size on the 80th-ranked perpetual, test with a small order first.
Security and regulation
What BingX has: BINGX GLOBAL PTY LTD is registered with AUSTRAC in Australia as a Digital Currency Exchange provider (registration number 644804571), and BINGX EU UAB is registered with Lithuania's Financial Crime Investigation Service as a virtual asset service provider. It publishes proof of reserves showing customer assets are backed 1:1 or better, and it has a bug bounty programme.
What it doesn't have: MiCA authorisation. As of mid-2026, BingX is not licensed under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets framework. The Lithuanian VASP registration is an anti-money-laundering registration, not a prudential licence; it doesn't come with investor protection, segregation requirements enforced by an EU regulator, or a compensation scheme. If you're in the EU and licensing is a hard requirement, this is a real gap, not a footnote.
Practically, the account-level security is standard and good: TOTP two-factor authentication, anti-phishing codes, withdrawal address whitelisting, device management and a 24-hour withdrawal freeze after sensitive changes. There has been no publicly confirmed loss of customer funds from a platform-level breach. There have been the usual phishing campaigns targeting users, which is why the registration guide pushes 2FA before deposits.
Restricted regions are a form of regulatory exposure too. BingX blocks the USA and territories, the UK, Canada, Singapore, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Macau, mainland China, and sanctioned jurisdictions. Users in those countries who register anyway tend to get caught at KYC, and the fallout (frozen balance, weeks of support tickets) is on them. The safety guide goes deeper on the reserves reports and what a VASP registration does and doesn't cover.
Copy trading
This is the reason most people pick BingX over a competitor with similar fees. BingX cites 400,000-plus lead traders and over 1.3 billion cumulative copy orders. The follower-side controls are what matter, and they're good: you can set a fixed amount per copied trade or a proportional ratio, put a stop-loss on the entire copy relationship (so it closes everything if the lead trader draws down past your limit), cap the number of concurrent positions, and follow several traders at once to spread the risk.
The weaknesses are on the lead-trader side. The leaderboard is sortable by ROI over 7, 30 and 90 days, and short windows reward whoever happened to be long the right coin last week. A trader with 300% 30-day ROI on a 40-day account history is a coin flip. Filters that actually help: minimum 180 days of history, maximum drawdown under 30%, a follower count in the hundreds rather than the tens, and an AUM figure that suggests real money follows them. Also check that the lead trader's average leverage matches your tolerance; copying a 50x scalper at 1:1 is how people lose an account in a day.
Lead traders earn a share of follower profits (typically 8 to 15%), which creates an incentive to take large positions on other people's money. That isn't unique to BingX, but it's worth understanding before you allocate. The copy trading guide walks through the screening process with examples.
The welcome bonus, honestly
The "5,685+ USDT welcome gift" is where BingX's marketing is furthest from the user's experience. The gift is three headline cards plus further tiers: a registration reward (30 USDT max, needs KYC), a deposit reward (500 USDT max, needs at least 200 USDT deposited and Advanced KYC), a trading reward (500 USDT max, tied to futures volume), and further deposit-and-trading tiers whose top steps need multi-million volume. Nearly everything pays in futures trial funds and fee vouchers. Trial funds can be traded and the profit kept; the principal can't be withdrawn. Each task expires on its own timer.
For a typical new user depositing a few hundred USDT, the realistic total is 10 to 60 USDT of trial funds. Useful as low-risk practice, not a reason to choose the exchange. The welcome bonus guide has the tier table and the fine print.
App and platform experience
The web platform is clean and the mobile app is one of the easier ones for beginners: the copy-trading tab is a first-class citizen, the futures interface hides advanced order types until you ask for them, and the demo toggle is easy to find.
The complaint that recurs across our own use and reader reports is app stability after updates. Symptoms have included chart freezes on the futures screen, duplicated push notifications, and occasional logouts that require re-entering 2FA. None of it has affected order execution in our experience, and releases fix things within a week or two, but it's worse than Binance's app and about on par with Bybit's. If you rely on the app for stop-loss management, keep the web platform available as a backup during volatile sessions.
Support is via live chat and tickets. First-line chat is scripted and slow on anything unusual; escalated tickets get answered in one to three days. Account recovery (lost 2FA) is a manual process that takes several days with ID verification, which is reasonable, but plan for it by backing up your authenticator secret.
Who BingX is for, and who it isn't
Good fit:
- Traders who want to copy trade with proper risk controls and are willing to screen lead traders.
- Altcoin traders who want early spot listings and a large perpetual list.
- Beginners who value a simpler interface and a demo account, in a supported country.
- Anyone who trades actively enough for a permanent 20% fee rebate to matter.
Poor fit:
- Residents of the USA, UK, Canada, Singapore, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Macau or mainland China. Not an option.
- EU users who require a MiCA-authorised venue.
- High-volume traders on mid-cap perpetuals who need deep books; Binance or Bybit will fill you better.
- Anyone expecting the welcome bonus to be free cash.
- Anyone who wants an app that never hiccups.
If you're weighing it against a specific alternative, we've done the head-to-heads: BingX vs Bybit, BingX vs Binance, BingX vs OKX and BingX vs MEXC.
Verdict
BingX is a legitimate, competitively priced exchange whose standout feature is copy trading, and whose main drawbacks are regulatory rather than operational: no MiCA authorisation, a long restricted-country list, and a bonus programme dressed up to look bigger than it is. Fees are fair and become better than fair with the referral rebate. The app is good enough but not the most stable. Liquidity is fine on majors and thin further down the list.
If you're in a supported country, want copy trading or altcoin breadth, and go in with realistic expectations about the bonus, it's a reasonable primary or secondary exchange. If you need EU licensing or you trade size on obscure perps, look elsewhere. Whatever you decide, sign up with the referral field filled (code PENDING), enable 2FA before depositing, and never put more into leveraged positions than you can afford to lose.
Frequently asked questions
Is BingX a legitimate exchange?
Yes. It has operated since 2018, reports 40M+ registered users, publishes proof of reserves, and holds an AUSTRAC registration in Australia plus a Lithuanian VASP registration. It is not MiCA-authorised and does not serve the USA, UK, Canada or several other jurisdictions.
What are BingX's trading fees?
At the base tier, spot is 0.10% maker and taker, and USDT-M perpetuals are 0.02% maker / 0.05% taker. A referral code entered at signup adds a permanent 20% rebate on those fees.
Is BingX good for copy trading?
It's one of the largest copy-trading venues, with 400,000+ lead traders and over 1.3 billion cumulative copy orders. The tools for followers are solid; the weakness is the number of lead traders with short, lucky track records, so screening matters.
Can US or UK residents use BingX?
No. Both are on the restricted list, along with Canada, Singapore, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Macau, mainland China and sanctioned countries.
Is the BingX welcome bonus worth it?
It's a set of conditional tasks paying mostly futures trial funds and vouchers, not withdrawable cash. Treat it as reduced-risk practice money. The permanent fee rebate from a referral code is worth more for most traders.
How does BingX compare with Bybit and Binance?
Fees are near-identical at the base tier. Bybit and Binance have deeper liquidity on the biggest pairs; BingX competes on copy trading, altcoin breadth and a simpler interface. Our head-to-head guides cover the specifics.
